They keep the party spirit alive in a city gagged by curfew hours and ridiculous ban orders. We, at 94.3 RadioOne, decided to doff our hats to the DJs in town by organising a mega event called Rise of the DJs. The response was overwhelming. From gorgeousu00a0 Sandalwood stars like Smitha to swimming champ Shikha Tandon, the who's who of Bengaluru turned up to applaud the DJs. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2009/jul/dj.jpg" align="right" border="1" />Lloyd, Gladwin and Praful were the first DJs to arrive, and they were joined by Anup Absolute, Gokul, Deepak, James, andu00a0 Ravi.u00a0 Jasmeet, Collin, T T, Nash, Gopu, Hussain, Sid, Ganesh, Jaimmy, Sean, Bobby, Clitus, Vishnu, Sasha, Vachan...they were all there. But instead of being led to the console, theyu00a0 were invited to have a blast. We must say we enjoyed watching them burn up the dance floor! But if the DJs were on the dance floor, then who played the music? Sameer and Supreeth gamely volunteered, ably supported by our in-house whiz Rajesh. RJ Anjaan and I had to pick up our mics as early as 5pm to entertain the party animals,u00a0 who stayed and swayed till 11pm. The awards ceremony was a riot. Pity nobody awarded us (Anjaan &amp; yours truly) for our PJs! Producer Rakesh was lost (rah, rah!) and found (bah!) only the next morning.
