Fashion and lifestyle brands use X'mas trees to drive home the save the planet message, using recycled bottles and magazines

It's the shape of things to come, and fashion extends its designer compassion to the spirit of Christmas using the universal theme of recycling. Now showing at the buzzing High Street Phoenix mall are eight interpretations of eco-friendly X'mas trees put together by lifestyle brands.

L'Officiel's magazine cutout tree

The staff at L'Officiel, a high-end fashion and lifestyle magazine, conceptualised the idea and helped brands translate the now-sacrosanct message of saving the earth. The raw material: recycled glass bottles, cutouts of magazine covers and a mannequin head to replace the conventional Fir tree, with "Faux Fur is Not a Fux Pas", "Glamorously Green", "Cautious and Clean and Green is the New Black" slogans turning into decorations.

"It's important for everyone, especially the media to promote the message. These trees are not only symbols of celebration but also a voice of going green." says Superna Motwane, editor L'Officiel.u00a0
