BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray amid the ongoing Hindi-Marathi language row, accusing them of targeting only the poor for not speaking Marathi.
Addressing reporters, Dubey said, “You beat up poor people, but Mukesh Ambani lives there and hardly speaks Marathi, go confront him if you have the courage. Mahim has a significant Muslim population, try going there. The SBI chairman doesn’t speak Marathi either, dare to raise your hand at him,” reported news agency ANI.
Dubey also clarified that his earlier remarks about Maharashtra’s economy had been misinterpreted, stressing that his intent had been misunderstood and taken out of context.
