Shreya Rao Kamavarapu was the second runner up in Miss India 2018 and hails from Hyderabad. She was an architect before she entered the world of glamour.
Shreya Rao Kamavarapu is currently engaged to Piyush Agarwal, also an entrepreneur in Mumbai. She said that 2020 is going to be about more batches, more students, grooming and lectures by the best in the country.
Shreya Rao Kamavarapu had won the Colors Femina Miss India Andhra Pradesh 2018 and then she was the second runner-up in the beauty competition which saw Anukreethy Vas being crowned as the fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2018.
Shreya Rao had completed her Bachelors in Architecture and was geared up to go to London for further studies.
In an interview with PTI, Shreya confessed that she did not know how to do makeup. I didn't know how to do the make-up or how to walk the ramp. I was not a very 'girly' girl, but I thought the Miss India organisation sees some potential in me."
She added, "They said if you work on yourself a little bit, get more fit, work on your walk, I could do it because I had that personality. So I decided I will talk to my parents because five years down the line, I don't want to regret saying I never gave it a shot. So then I worked on myself."
Her parents were initially reluctant but then they accompanied Shreya for her auditions. She says, "But when they came with me to all my auditions, they saw that the pageant isn't just about beauty. They realised their daughter was growing."
"It was a shocker to them because at home I was a different person, like an introvert. So when they realised it was teaching me a lot of things, they realised the importance of it, she adds."
The beauty has walked as a showstopper for a number of popular designers and she also featured in Hyderabad Times Most Desirable List 2018.
Shreya wanted to represent the country for Miss United Continents and get a bigger crown for India.
Shreya got 'rokafied' in April last year. The gorgeous lady was recently felicitated in Mumbai for her achievements.
