Eight workers remain trapped after a section of the under-construction Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel collapsed in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool district on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 AM when a 10-metre stretch of the tunnel roof gave way during excavation work, leaving workers operating the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) unable to escape. <div>The collapse took place around 13 km from the tunnel’s inlet, causing debris mixed with water to spread across a 200-300 metre stretch inside the tunnel.
