The week-long Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature commenced on Monday, marking the start of a crucial round of discussions and policy decisions. On Day 1, the Mahayuti government tabled supplementary demands amounting to Rs 75,286.38 crore in the Legislative Assembly. A significant portion of the proposed expenditure is earmarked for farmer relief measures, subsidies, and various social welfare schemes aimed at supporting vulnerable sections of society. The government has allocated Rs 15,648 crore for compensation and financial assistance to rain and flood-affected farmers, and Rs 9,250 crore for electricity tariff subsidies for agriculture pumps, power loom and handloom units</p>

Despite the short duration, we plan to do maximum business. The government is preparing to introduce 18 bills during the Winter session. Some are minor, but we will attempt to prioritise issues related to Vidarbha and Marathwada"</p>
