<p>In the 24 hours ending at 6 am on 29 July, Gujarat experienced rainfall across 116 talukas. Nadiad, in the Kheda district of Central Gujarat, recorded the highest rainfall of 118 mm, nearly 4.6 inches.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Usually, 50 mm of rainfall, which is about 2 inches, can lead to waterlogging if it occurs within in short period. However, several areas in Nadiad were inundated after receiving up to 4.6 inches of rainfall.</p>

<p>Apart from Gujarat, heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh have increased the water levels of several reservoirs. Madhya Pradesh and Odisha received moderate to heavy rains in the last 24 hours.&nbsp;</p>
