Despite the prompt rescue efforts, two individuals could not survive and succumbed to their injuries.

Speaking to reporters, Additional Director General of Police, DK Thakur said the deceased were identified as Mohit (30) and Piyush (28).

Meanwhile, the injured persons have been rushed to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

Authorities have taken action and arrested two suspects, including the landlord and contractor, who were allegedly involved in the construction of the collapsed building.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance and directed the administration to prioritise the treatment of the injured and to ensure safe rescue of any remaining trapped individuals.
