The most awaited time of the year, Ganesh Chaturthi is finally here. This vibrant Hindu festival, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganesh Utsav, celebrates the birth of Lord Ganesha and lasts for 10 days. This 10-day celebration is marked with immense enthusiasm and devotion by Hindus around the world, especially in India. Lord Ganesha, also known as Gajanana, Dhoomraketu, Ekdant, Vakratunda and Siddhivinayaka is honored as the deity of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. The grand festival kicks off on the fourth day, or Chaturthi, of the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, which usually falls between August and September. During this period, beautifully decorated clay idols of Lord Ganesha are set up in homes, temples, and temporary public setups called pandals, where they are worshipped through various rituals and ceremonies.
