In a big relief to Rahul Gandhi in the modi-surname defamation case, SC has stayed the conviction of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. While granting relief to Rahul Gandhi, Supreme Court said that the ramifications of the trial court’s order are wide. However, SC said, Rahul Gandhi’s utterances are not in good taste and is expected to exercise caution while making public speeches. Earlier, Surat Court convicted the Congress leader in a defamation case for his ‘Modi surname’ remark.
