On July 31, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) canceled the provisional appointment of trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar and banned her from all future exams and selections. This decision came after Khedkar was accused of fraudulently exceeding the allowed number of attempts in the examination by using a false identity. On July 18, the UPSC issued a show cause notice (SCN) to her, giving her until August 4 to respond. However, after considering her request for more time, the UPSC granted an extension only until July 30. Khedkar failed to submit her explanation by this deadline. The UPSC reviewed the case thoroughly and found her guilty of violating the examination rules.
