Another day, another roadblock

Lalu Prasad Yadav made an appearance on Twitter after a long time, for demanding reservations in the Lokpal body. The ruckus he created in the Lok Sabha prompted Rajesh Kalra to tweet: 'The free run given to Lalu as the Lokpal is debated looks totally premeditated. Use a needy ally to stall everything and adjourn.' T S Sudhir wasn't impressed either: 'By sending Lalu as pinch-hitter, the Congress is only scoring a self-goal.' Sonia Singh weighed in with this: 'Irony of our times: Lalu charged with corruption in the fodder scam leading protests against the Lokpal Bill. Politicians are their own worst enemies.' And a question from Dinesh Nair: 'Congress, what a game you played by putting Lalu forward. Will he be the next Railway Minister now?'

Santa Claus was a pleasant trending topic as many posted wish-lists. 'Dear Santa,' went one, 'I would like a new face for Christmas; one without spots.' There was also this: 'What I want is your list with names of naughty girls.'

A valid question from musician Vishal Dadlani: 'Lalu, why do we need minority reservation on the Lokpal? Why can't it just be educated, honest, public-minded Indians?'
