This is au00a0big joke. That's what it is. The moral brigade led by the so-called Sri Rama Sene wants to decide, who should get married in Mangalore. They have put upon themselves the task of marrying off a couple, just because the youth have the audacity to celebrate Valentine's Day.

And the reason such threats are being issued by the Sene is to protect our culture from Western invasion. I believed that such tyranny was limited to Mumbai-based right-wing Hindu parties, but I was wrong. It has spread to the South as well.

Being a democracy, people should get to decide what they want and what they don't. We don't need politicians to preach culture to us and dictate how we should lead our lives. I wonder when this nonsense will end.
