My film releases next week, but I have no idea what to wear to its premiere. The problem with being a female director is not that people don't take me seriously, but that they expect me to look half way decent.
Anyway, my four-year-old niece Ananya was asked what she would like to be when she grows up and she said, "Filmmaker.
Like my Bua." Then she went on to add, "Except my bua's only made one film and I shall make two." It was a very proud moment for me. 
Of course her doctor Grandma (my mom) is not so impressed with my choice of vocation.
Apart from this, it was Eid on Saturday. I missed being in Delhi and visiting the home of my dear friend Mustafa whose mother so kindly makes vegetarian biryani for us (yes, such a thing does exist).
