"Leadership issues are things that we always think about but we are really confident that Ricky will be more than capable of getting through to the 2011 Word Cup, and I know that is something he would like to do, so I don't see that as being an issue," chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said yesterday.

Hilditch said the selectors were conscious of the need to manage Ponting's workload carefully. Meanwhile, Michael Clarke has justified the selectors' confidence in him as captain, which he sealed with his first series win as touring captain with an unbeaten century on Friday at Abu Dhabi.
That said, the selectors are not about to split the captaincy between Tests and limited overs forms of the game, as they did when appointing Ponting captain for the 2003 World Cup in Africa.
On his part, Clarke has expressed his preference to wait for the top job.
"Let me make clear, our captain's back home and we can't wait to have him back," he said yesterday.
"He's a fantastic leader and I'm stoked that he's happy to give me these chances, give me these opportunities to get involved and learn as much as I can."
Australia's record in the limited overs format has been below par, with eight wins and 10 defeats in ODIs this year, with one no result. They have won three and lost two Twenty20 internationals in the same period.
The Australian squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in England will be announced tomorrow.
