Readers of this column will recall the suggestion in this regard, made by this writer at the instance of a teenage mourner at Raj Singh's condolence meeting at the CCI last week, that doing so would be a fitting gesture on the part of the club's executive committee (MiD DAY September 16).
While conveying the proposal to Raj Singh's brother Jai Singh over the phone in Dungarpur immediately after the meeting, I suggested that he discuss it with his family.
Jai duly sent word yesterday that the family approved of the suggestion. Thisu00a0 was conveyed to CCI president Badal Mittal, who consented spontaneously.

I am informed that arrangements will be made to bring part of the Ashes to the Brabourne Stadium from Allahabad, where they will be immersed in the Ganga on Tuesday.
