And so, Mumbai gifted the Shiv Sena another five years.

The verdict is out

Journalist Rajdeep Sardesai weighed in with this: 'Lesson for Congress-NCP: Can't win civic elections in Mumbai without building local leadership and cadres.' Joy Das added: 'BJP did quite well. Coming third is an achievement, considering the fourth or fifth position is reserved for them.' There was also this interesting observation from a certain Tushar Abhichandani: 'One of the BMC candidates in my area has a briefcase as his election symbol. Gotta give the man points for being upfront at least.'

Seat of power?
Reports of all seven seats in Dadar -- historically known as a Shiv Sena bastion -- going to the MNS made the area a trending topic for a while. Namrata Kilpady tweeted: 'Can't believe Dadar has finally shown the Sena the door! Sena Bhawan is so central to its topography.' Sabbah Haji added: 'I thought I didn't care, but this brought a smile to my face.' And from Shailesh Pandey: 'All 7 seats go to MNS. And, at a later date, MNS goes to SS.'

Dream a little dream
What is your idea of a dream job? These were some examples shared: 'One that provides me with a Mercedes, an annual all-paid vacation abroad and a great home', 'Becoming the world's cutest explorer', 'Being the tabla-bag bearer of maestro Ustad Zakir Hussain', 'Doing nothing and getting paid for it' and 'Being the non-striker when Sachin is batting on 99 and takes the most-awaited single.'

The last word
From former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar: '"Sorry, I can't help you there. It's against the rules." We Indians need to learn to say this more often.'
