The founder of Playboy a man long used to an unnatural amount of publicity got more of it after his third wedding, scheduled for the weekend, was cancelled. 85-year-old Hugh Hefner's 25-year-old fiancee changed her mind, apparently. This compelled comedian Paul Kerensa to commiserate: 'Poor Hefner, left at the altar.
He'll be at home, collecting his thoughts, and a new bride.' Another tweeter added: 'His young fiancee had a change of heart.
Hugh didn't. All he did was change the battery in his pacemaker.' And there was this, from Dan Dodge: 'Hefner is reported to have said there are plenty of fish in the sea, truly showing how out of touch he is with modern ocean ecology.'
PIL or PR?
Actor Imran Khan's decision to file a PIL against the state government, for raising the drinking age to 25, got him what he clearly wanted a bit of attention. In tweeter Drashti's words: 'Chalo, stars are not so dumb after all; they can DO something!' Afshan Anjum wanted to know why the actor wasn't going on a hunger strike too. Someone with the handle Fightclub was obviously unimpressed: 'Aha, PIL by Imran Khan. Very smart move. Youth. Target. Voice. Film.'
Keeping score
Cut-off marks for admission to Delhi University's prestigious colleges were always reportedly high. This year though, some of them touched absurd levels. This didn't go down well with the folks online. In Amogh Ranadive's words, 'Delhi University's 100% cut-off is the equivalent of Mumbai University's minority quota system.' And this, from Siddev18: 'Delhi University: 100% cut off from the real world?'
The last word
Paris Hilton (you know who she is), had a special tweet for Hugh Hefner: 'So sorry to hear about the news. You deserve better then that. Let's throw a party to celebrate you being single again.' And so, that story continues.
