My mother, brother and a few of my cousins have come down from Dubai, so we will all be getting together for the occasion. The preparations for some great food will start this evening. <br /><br />My favourite thing to eat is Kaalan, a thick yoghurt and coconut chutney. There will also be Olan, which is a coconut milk-based dish made with pumpkin and beans, and payasam for dessert. <br /><br />Mom will be doing most of the cooking, and who better to be spoilt and pampered by! We have to get up at 4 am to perform certain rituals to ensure that the year ahead will be one of abundance. I guess, in some ways, it's similar to the law of attraction.
