It is two good (pun intended) to read in this paper that two cops along with fire fighters rescued a couple of residents who were trapped in a major blaze in a building in the western suburbs. The cops were on nakabandi said the report, when they were alerted to the fire. They broke open jammed doors and freed residents, without wearing any safety equipment.
The cops negotiated the floors and told residents to use the mobile light, so that they are aware of where they are. It was a stellar effort, as they kept wet cloth on their face and advised residents to do so too. They also ensured that residents reached an open terrace so they could be rescued. A senior official has stated that the cops will be felicitated. We must see the top brass keeping their word, as these men have been extraordinarily courageous. They also ticked all the boxes when it comes to sensible action during fires. They stayed calm and concentrated on the rescue. They advised residents to breathe through a wet cloth on their face, which is the best idea during a fire. They also used the staircase and then, ensured along with firefighters that those living there reach an open space, as they
wait for rescue.
