A trekking company is planning a new series of hikes starting next month that have one clear criterion — no phones.

An organiser stated that even when people are out amidst nature, they are looking at it through their phone camera. He added that this poses different challenges for organisers. For instance, they have to go out of their way to get people truly involved in their hike. He added that any trip is a sensory experience. Recently, they have witnessed a growing community of people who travel specifically to create content. So, even when people show up for treks, they are not as attuned.
