Numerous fire incidents, some unrelated to the festival, have highlighted the importance of being ‘fire aware’ as individuals. We must start at the roots, in our home kitchens, which must become fire-compliant. Wear cotton clothes while cooking or near fire. Keep a tube of Burnol handy in the kitchen. Seek medical advice or intervention if even slightly burnt, instead of dismissing any injury as small.
