A country whose history has been equally filled with breathtaking artistry and feral violence. They are people who are as closed as they are polite. Nobody who is not Japanese will ever understand this race that appreciates the beauty and intricacy of a ceremony designed to pour tea, even while making drinking and barfing a tradition to be enjoyed every night. Any other country would have buckled under the strain that it was put through all of last week. But the Japanese are as strong as they are stoical. The moving images of people waiting patiently in line for scarce fuel, or the one of a woman who took two mineral water bottles from the scarily depleted supermarket shelf - only so she could give one to her aged neighbour ufffd speak eloquently of a country that is a continent by itself. Ten thousand people die ufffd for no fault of theirs. And all they do is pick up the shattered threads of their lives and move on. In India, on the other hand, an aide to a tainted ex-minister hangs himself. And the newspapers are full of the one worthless life destroyed. His tearful wife blames the media and the courts for "driving her husband to death for the shame of being investigated." Really now! The man didn't feel too bad when he was taking in the many thousands of crores for himself and his minister and the rest of the DMK. The guy wasn't too embarrassed to put out his hand and stash away piles of cash that have so many zeros to them, the scam was embarrassing by itself. It was only when it was all ripped out in the open, that the poor fellow felt a tad bit red-faced.u00a0 I'm indicting him before justice takes its due course ufffd but he, and everyone else of his ilk, should hang ufffd and slowly. While people who can only be called a waste of oxygen were busy hanging themselves, a boa constrictor in Brazil was wrapping itself around a bootylicious model. All was going well, until the snake decided to strike at the girl. And luckily (for her) got its fangs deeply embedded in her silicon implant. The model walked away with a little mark, and a tetanus shot. The poor reptile, on the other hand, breathed its last a few hours later. Many jokes have been made on Facebook about the reptile's last tit-bit, or in this case, bit-tit. Disrespectful people, I tell you.
