A military statement says the Multi-National Division-South soldier was killed in an explosion yesterday near Samawah, about 370 kilometers southeast of Baghdad.
A statement also says a Multi-National Division-North soldier died yesterday as a result of a noncombat incident in northern Ninevah province.
The names of the soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The deaths raise to at least 4,315 members of the US military who have died in Iraq since the war started in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count.
