The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 20-year-old Ali Saqr al-Qasem killed his mother Lena, 45, on Wednesday in the Syrian city of Raqqa.
The sickening act was witnessed by a large crowd in front of the postal building where the victim worked, according to activist group ‘Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently’. Qasem had reported his mother to his ISIS
superiors, who then sentenced her to death and ordered him to be the executioner.
It is believed she was shot dead with the Syrian Network for Human Rights reporting that her actual crime was “communicating with a third party”.
The 20-year-old used an assault rifle to execute his mother, after she was found guilty of apostasy. The jihadi’s mother, who wanted to escape with him, told her son “the coalition will kill all members of the organisation.”
