A bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the main gate of the station located on a busy road in the Kohat district of North-West Frontier Province.
"It was a suicide attack, and according to the initial information, eight people are killed and around a dozen injured," police spokesman Fazal Naeem said by phone.
"For the moment, it's not clear how many policemen are among the dead," he said.
