Bombardier marked a major moment in business aviation on Monday when it handed over the first Global 8000 — the fastest civilian aircraft to fly since the Concorde — at its Assembly Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.

Patrick Dovigi, a former Canadian hockey pro who later built a successful business career, received the first delivery. The Global 8000 reaches Mach 0.95, which makes it the fastest private jet on the market.
