Two cannabis-derived chemicals, CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), have demonstrated anti-cancer activity on ovarian cancer cells. Researchers found that after being treated with CBD or THC, fewer and smaller colonies of cancer cells were formed. Both compounds worked to prevent cancer cells from reproducing, but combining them gave particularly good results. Neither compound alone killed a large proportion of cancer cells, but a combination of the two was very successful.
