Chinese firm launches first LatAm payload into orbit

The launch took place on Tuesday using a Kinetica-1 (Lijian-1) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China. The mission was CAS Space’s second Kinetica-1 flight in 2025 and the payloads were placed in a sun-synchronous orbit

Chinese commercial space launch provider CAS Space successfully launched seven satellites into orbit, including two Mexican femtosats, marking their first foray into launching payloads for a Latin American client. 

The launch took place on Tuesday using a Kinetica-1 (Lijian-1) rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China. The mission was CAS Space’s second Kinetica-1 flight in 2025 and the payloads were placed in a sun-synchronous orbit.
