The Dalai Lama says he has been told that Chinese agents trained Tibetan women for a mission to kill him. In an excerpt of the interview with The (London) Sunday Telegraph, the 76-year-old Tibetan Buddhist leader said the women were to pose as devotees seeking his blessing as part of a plot to poison him. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2012/may/Lama.jpg" /> Death plot: In an interview, the Dalai Lama has revealed that he received a report where the Chinese were training women to kill him. File pic &ldquo;We received some sort of information from Tibet. Some Chinese agents training some Tibetans, especially women, you see, using poison &mdash; the hair poisoned, and the scarf poisoned &mdash; they were supposed to seek blessing from me, and my hand touch (sic),&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t know whether (the reports are) 100 per cent or not. There&rsquo;s no possibility to cross check that,&rdquo; he added. The reports have not been confirmed by the Dalai Lama&rsquo;s aides. The Nobel peace laureate currently lives inside a heavy security cordon in Dharamshala, in the Himalayan foothills. Ties between China and the Dalai Lama remain poor. More than 30 Tibetans have carried out self-immolations in the past year in protest against Chinese attempts to marginalise the Tibetan language and culture, the newspaper reported. The Dalai Lama was due to accept the $1.8 million (Rs 9.6 crore) Templeton Prize yesterday in London for his work championing science as an element in religious life.
