A German man has been charged with 497 counts of rape and is said to have had "three children with his own daughter". The 69-year-old man has been charged by local prosecutors with 497 counts of rape for sexually abusing his daughter for 34 years and fathering three sons by her, the Daily Mail reported. According to the prosecutor, the case came to light only recently when the 46-year-old victim confided in her probation officer after being sentenced to probation for an unrelated crime. u00a0 The abuse is said to have started when the victim was 12 years of age and the attacks took place mainly in the family home near Nuremberg or a car, but the accused, who is in custody since March, admits having consensual sex with his daughter. The incestuous case is similar to the Fritzl case, which emerged in 2008 when a 42-year-old woman, Elisabeth Fritsl claimed that she had been held captive for 24 years in a concealed corridor part of the basement area of her family home where her father, Josef Fritzl had physically assaulted, sexually abused and raped her numerous times, resulting in the birth of seven children and one miscarriage.
