A former policeman, Andy Wray, does not recognise his own wife and daughter if he is parted from them for more than 48 hours after suffering severe trauma brought on by job stress.
Wray (32) had a mental breakdown two years after leaving the force when he became affected by memories of the terrible car crashes and suicides he had witnessed.
Blank slate
Wray, now a supermarket worker, set off to hospital feeling ill, and when he arrived he had forgotten his wife Jo (34), his daughter Chloe (3), and his whole life.
Now, nearly three years later, he still cannot recognise Jo or Chloe if they leave him for longer than 48 hours.
