&gt;&gt; In 2012, the United Nations declared May 4 as the official day for anti-bullying to take a stand against bullying. It is also called as the Pink Shirt day.
&gt;&gt; The idea of this day originated in Canada. This day is observed mostly in countries like Australia, France, Lebanon, the United Kingdom and the United States.
&gt;&gt; On this day, people wear a pink, blue or purple shirt to symbolise a stand against bullying.
&gt;&gt;The idea originated from David Shepherd and Travis Price of Berwick, Nova Scotia, who in 2007 bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after male ninth grade student Jadrien Cota was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school.
&gt;&gt;&nbsp;Statistics show that 71 percent of students that are bullied in schools
&gt;&gt; A study conducted by Yale School of Medicine discovered a connection between being bullied and suicide and termed it as 'Bullycide' where someone who is bullied commits suicide as a result.
&gt;&gt;&nbsp;Lady Gaga, Sandra Bullock, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Kate Winslet, Robert Pattinson, Jennifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Jackie Chan, Jessica Alba were all bullied when they were kids.
