A day after announcing a 25 per cent tariff on imports from India, U.S. President Donald Trump launched a fresh tirade, criticising India`s close ties with Russia and dismissing both nations’ economies as "dead." In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, "I don`t care what India does with Russia. They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care."

Trump justified his tough stance, stating that the U.S. has done "very little business with India" due to what he called "some of the highest tariffs in the world" and "obnoxious" trade barriers. He also claimed that the U.S. has a "massive" trade deficit with India.
