Jimmy Lai, the pro-democracy former Hong Kong media mogul and outspoken critic of <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/world-news/photo/in-photos-30-killed-in-heavy-floods-in-beijing-106628/8" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Beijing</a>, was convicted in a national security trial in the city&rsquo;s court on Monday, which could send him to prison for the rest of his life.
