It has 11 bedrooms, three cottages, 70 acres of parkland with tennis courts, swimming pool and a pear orchard, manicured gardens with yew hedges carved into animal shapes, and a benign resident ghost. Former airhostess Carole and her husband, ex-British Airways aircraft dispatcher Michael, paid a quiet visit to the house, which is being sold privately, in December. "Talk about keeping it in the family, Camilla was rather amused to hear that the Middletons had been to look round her old home," said a source.
