Pak court asks police to register case against Musharraf

A Pakistani court on Monday directed the police to register a case against former President Pervez Musharraf for 'illegally' detaining members of the superior judiciary after imposing Emergency in 2007, two weeks after the Supreme Court declared his actions as unconstitutional.

A Pakistani court on Monday directed the police to register a case against former President Pervez Musharraf for 'illegally' detaining members of the superior judiciary after imposing Emergency in 2007, two weeks after the Supreme Court declared his actions as unconstitutional.

District and Sessions Judge in the federal capital Akmal Raza issued the order after a lawyer Aslam Ghuman filed an application in his court asking for a case to be registered against Musharraf, who is currently in Europe. The judge's order was sent to a police station in the heart of Islamabad, sources said.
