Russia strikes Ukraine with 300 drones as Trump vows to end the war

Russia launched a massive overnight assault on Ukraine’s energy grid using 300 drones and 37 missiles, leaving eight regions in blackout. As Kyiv reels from the attack, President Zelenskyy seeks more US air defences while Donald Trump pledges to push Moscow toward ending the war

Russia battered Ukraine’s energy facilities with more than 300 drones and 37 missiles overnight in its latest heavy bombardment of the country’s power grid, authorities said Thursday, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prepared to ask US President Donald Trump at a White House meeting for more American-made air defences and long-range missiles. Eight Ukrainian regions experienced blackouts after the barrage.
