The Taliban leadership is warning the employed women in Afghanistan to stay indoors until it trains its security forces on "how to deal with women". "Our security forces are not trained [in] how to deal with women or how to speak with women," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters at a press conference, Fox News reported. "Until we have full security in place ... we ask women to stay home," he said.

Mujahid added that the guidance is a "very temporary procedure", and women will be allowed to return to work once a system is in place to protect their safety. Fear is mounting among women and girls in Afghanistan after the Taliban told working women to stay at home, admitting that they are not safe in the presence of the militant group's soldiers.
