A footman serving the British royal family 23 years ago - and who had not been lucky in love - got the surprise of his life when he received a Valentine's Day card from Princess Diana.

Addressed "To George" in a pink envelope, the card had a picture of hearts and a teddy bear, under which a printed message read: "Hey Valentine! Not many men will receive a Valentine's card from Princess Diana...", and inside it continued: "...and you're one of them." The card was sent by the princess in 1989 when she was still married to Prince Charles.
