Texas school shooting: Teen gunman opens fire, kills 21 including 19 children

In one of the worst school shootings in American history, an 18-year-old gunman killed 21 people, including 18 children, and rendered several other grievously injured at an elementary school in Texas state. The incident took place on May 24 after an 18-year-old gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. The gunman was later killed by law enforcement officers. Pics/PTI, AP and AFP

A 36-hour curfew which was imposed in Sri Lanka in the wake of the political unrest, was lifted on Monday, with public transportation resuming normal services. Internet users were unable to access Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp and other social media platforms on Sunday. The ban was lifted after 15 hours. Russia invades Ukraine: Conflict in photos

Russian troops launched a wide-ranging attack on Ukraine on Thursday, as President Vladimir Putin cast aside international condemnation and sanctions and warned other countries that any attempt to interfere would lead to “consequences you have never seen.”  The Russian military claimed to have wiped out Ukraine’s entire air defenses in a matter of hours. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said 137 civilians and military personnel have been killed so far in the Russian invasion of his country.
