Iran launched drone and missile attacks on terrorist group headquarters in Pakistan’s Balochistan on Jan 16. Pakistan has strongly condemned Iran’s strikes on a terrorist group in Balochistan which claimed the lives of two children. The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan has termed the Iran airstrike in Pakistan as an “unprovoked violation” of its airspace by Iran. Also, the Ministry has warned of serious consequences and said that violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty “completely unacceptable”. Soon after Iran’s military action, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry raised the issue with the Iranian Counterpart on a diplomatic level. Islamabad highlighted that Tehran carried out the airstrike despite availability of several communication channels between the two. As per Al Arabiya News, Iran attacked the headquarters of Jaish al-Adl in Balochistan, Pakistan. Formed in 2012, this group has been designated as a “terrorist” organisation by Iran and operates in Sistan and Baluchestan province.
