Hundreds of people protested by organising a sit-in in front of the East Agartala Police Station, demanding the arrest of those involved in the suspected honour killing of a local youth.

Security forces seized more than 100,000 bottles of contraband cough syrup in Tripura, meant to be smuggled to neighbouring Bangladesh. The operation was carried out by paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) and local custom officers.
