Competing against Congress’ KL Sharma, Former Union Minister Smriti Irani lost by a margin of 1,67,196 votes. Smriti Irani suffered a massive defeat in her constituency. The people of her constituency highlighted various factors that led to the actor-turned-politician’s election debacle.

Irani graciously acknowledged her defeat, pledging to persist in serving Amethi's populace. Following her concession, Irani convened with BJP supporters in Amethi, where emotions ran high, witnessing tears shed by party members in response to the substantial defeat suffered at the hands of the Congress contender.
