In the high-octane Baramati seat, Maharashtra Deputy CM & NCP Candidate from Baramati Assembly Ajit Pawar is leading in the battle with his nephew Yugendra Pawar. Baramati constituency has been a bastian of the Pawars but since the split of the NCP into two factions, the battle has become even more intense. Supporters of Maharashtra Deputy CM & NCP Candidate from Baramati Assembly Ajit Pawar burst crackers to celebrate his lead. Mahayuti has crossed the majority mark of 145 seats in the state. 

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has filed his nomination to contest from the Baramati assembly seat. This election will see him facing off against his nephew, Yugendra Pawar, who is the grandson of Sharad Pawar. Yugendra is running as a candidate for the NCP-SP alliance. This matchup marks another Pawar versus Pawar contest, following a recent election where Supriya Sule, Sharad Pawar`s daughter, defeated Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar`s wife. Ajit Pawar split from the NCP in June 2023. When asked about competing against his uncle, Yugendra expressed his sadness and said it was quite unfortunate to be in this situation, as Ajit Pawar has previously won this seat seven times.
