The IMD said the southwest monsoon has further advanced into parts of the south Arabian Sea, Maldives-Comorin region, south Bay of Bengal and sections of the northeast Bay of Bengal. Conditions remain favourable for its further advance into additional parts of the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and northeastern states over the next two to three days

The IMD said the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into parts of the Andaman Sea, Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, with Kerala onset likely around May 26 and Mumbai expected to receive monsoon rains around June 10. Heavy rain and heatwave alerts have also been issued
