The Atlantic is roiling as Hurricanes Imelda and Humberto stir up dangerous conditions across the region. Imelda has strengthened as it slices past the Southeast U.S. coast, bringing heavy rain, high winds, and turbulent seas. Bermuda is now in the storm’s crosshairs, facing potential hurricane impacts within the next 24 to 36 hours. Imelda recently struck the Bahamas with heavy rainfall and wind gusts reaching 44 mph at Nassau, while turning east to keep the strongest winds off the Southeast U.S. coast. Meanwhile, both storms generate high surf, rip currents, and localized coastal flooding from the Carolinas to Florida.
