Army kid Varun Sood was born in Kolkata and grew up in various parts of the country, but he has spent most of his life in Delhi. Five years ago, he moved to Mumbai to fulfil his dream of entering showbiz. Actor Varun Sood comes from a family of army men, and that was his initial choice of career as well. But MTV happened when he was a teenager, and then showbiz sucked him in. Now that he is much older, he admits he probably didn`t have the courage and tenacity an army officer requires. He also talks about focusing on acting now, with shows like Karma Calling and Call Me Bae. He also wants to work in a film directed by Karan Johar.
