The Ministry of Home Affairs handed the Citizenship Certificates to persecute non-Muslim migrants. Pakistani refugees, living at Majnu ka Tila refugee camps, got Indian citizenship through the Citizenship Amendment Act on May 15. Sheetal Das, a Pakistani refugee expressed his happiness upon receiving citizenship and thanked the Central government. Yashodha said that her children would now be able to get educated and have a better future and they would be considered Indians now. Applications have been received from persons belonging to Hindu, Sikh, and other communities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who entered India up to 31.12.2014.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi challenged the opposition over CAA while addressing a public rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalganj. PM Modi accused the opposition of being hypocritical and communal. PM Narendra Modi said, “It's Modi who has unmasked you. You are a hypocrite, communal. You left this nation in communal fire for 60 years. I am saying it clearly, it's Modi's guarantee 'desh-videsh kahin se bhi, jo bhi taakat ikatthi karni hai kar lo', you can't end CAA.” Watch video for more.
