Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut commended Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis for his government`s success in encouraging Naxalites to surrender in Gadchiroli, a region long affected by Naxalism. Among the 11 surrendered was a top leader with a ₹1 crore bounty. Raut highlighted the government`s positive role in integrating them into the mainstream and expressed hope for economic development in Gadchiroli, including Fadnavis`s plan to build a steel city to combat unemployment and poverty. Eleven Naxals, including Tarakka Sidam, surrendered to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Gadchiroli Police headquarters. In a major move, a new police station was also inaugurated to improve law and order in the region. This initiative is part of efforts to break the Maoist control that once ruled the area. Speaking to ANI, CM Fadnavis emphasized the importance of the new police station, stating that the area had been under Maoist influence. He added that the police have now established their presence there, weakening Maoist control. The region is also seeing development, with new roads connecting it to Chhattisgarh, and mobile towers being set up to improve communication.
